Abi and I say, Brazil has a
great opportunity to discuss and
present the themes of sustainability and
investment in the low-
carbon economy during these two weeks, to present
the Brazilian capital market and how
it has been financing the real economy
in recent years here in Brazil. And
it can also fund its major
investment financing agent
in the low-carbon economy, in the
transition from the current economy to a
more sustainable economy.
Several panels are taking place here where, in
some way, we will seek to
converge on ideas, initiatives, and actions
that accelerate the ability of
private agents to join forces with the
insurance sector and public agents in
directing resources to
finance these
transition projects. To prepare the
financial market, the capital market, to
understand all these opportunities
so that the market understands its
importance, its relevance, and
its capacity to move
this entire climate transition agenda forward, which
needs to happen without leaving anyone
behind.
For us, Daima has been an
even greater opportunity. We are
having the opportunity to show that the theme of
sustainability and ISG investment is an
agenda deeply rooted in IMA. ANBIMA, as
always for over a decade, has had
sustainability at the heart of its
strategic pillars and could not be
absent from COP 30 and these debates.
And we've been improving and
developing the Brazilian market in
relation to these topics, right? This, as
I always say, is a journey.
We started way back then, we don't have that
opportunity now with the TRI, with the COP,
and we're going to continue. There is still a lot
to be done related to this, and BIMA
is very involved and we have a
very strong agenda.

BIM was present in various spaces,
in the blue zone, in the green zone, in homes.
I'll explain a little bit about how
we locate all of this within the CP. The
first area is the blue zone, the Blue
Zone. It depends on
special accreditation from the UN, the official forum
where negotiations take place and where
countries are represented. The
second area is the Green Zone. That's where
civil society participates,
where we had stands, or
spaces for many organizations. So
we also had spaces for some of our members
to be represented there,
including the Brazilian pavilion, where we
had a speech. Então, nesse espaço, a
eventos. So, we were present at
The Investment Copy, an initiative of the
World Climate Foundation, in which we
participated, and we were able to create a
lot of debates and discussions.
We were also present at the
Global Compact event, a very
traditional forum at the COPS, and we were at Casa
do Seguro, a very
interesting initiative from CMEG, where we
talked about financing mechanisms,
structures, and how we
see this path for
financing a transition to a
more sustainable society. And we have
participated in discussions such as
Ecoinvest, which is a
public-private partnership in the blended
finance model, where the public market provides the
long-term concessional catalytic resource
and the private market has the
possibility, the opportunity to
multiply these resources. Eco Invest
has been helpful because it has somewhat broken the
bubble, bringing other banks and other
players into the market, but we need
more investors looking at this type of
investment, we need more
investors talking to other
types of capital, to foundations, going a
little more into the field. I think that helps
a lot.
Another thing we addressed here is
the example we had in building up to
COP 30, which are the
journeys we undertook so far in
partnership with CESSEG and Febraban, a
partnership that proved extremely
successful and still has much to offer
in the future. Another difference
for BIMA, right, is that we worked with
other actors in the ecosystem, such as
non-profit organizations, NGOs, and
representatives of civil society, who
worked with us in a
very generous way,
including us in discussions that
we hadn't participated in before. And
UNEPFI is a unique case for G fans, in which
we participate. [music] The World
Climate Foundation, which has been a great
partner throughout the year and here at
COP. E é algo que na nossa nova
estratégia, tanto pra sustentabilidade
como pra educação, como pra inovação, a
gente vai seguir fazendo, que é procurar
sempre a força dessas parcerias que
podem trazer pra gente competências que
a gente não tem, né, que não são
exatamente das áreas daima e tornar as
nossas estratégias mais eficazes,
eficientes e assertivas na hora de lidar
com esses problemas mais sistêmicos com
os quais a gente tem que lidar. And
finally, a very
important message remains. Brazil chose
the word "mutirão" (collective effort) for COP 30,
which portrays, better than any other
word, the spirit of
collective collaboration. And that word is a noun.
It's a word that has a past, a present,
and a future.
